Our client requested the line be remediated from the end of the lateral, which was the lowest point of the pipeline elevation toward the blockage. The client explained the oil between the departure point and the blockage had been pre-sold and accounted for through the sales line meter. The client wanted to avoid contaminating the pre-sold oil. One of the main challenges we faced was to overcome the elevation of 61.4 feet, which presented an unconventional approach to remediate the line uphill.

S-18045 contained a variety of fluids and solids that made this remediation project extremely challenging. The exact number of plugs, or complete blockages preventing communication, is unknown. However, it is very likely the line contained numerous plugs, which is evidenced by the frequency of significant pressure drops experienced. One of the main challenges we faced was to overcome the elevation of 61.4 feet, which presented an unconventional approach to remediate.

The 8-inch oil line from Vermilion 214 C to Vermilion 214 A contained a significant amount of paraffin deposition along the entire horizontal length of the pipeline. The exact number of plugs, or complete blockages preventing communication, is unknown. However, based on the fact that we experienced significant pressure drops frequently during the pumping process, it is apparent the line contained numerous plugs.

The 4-inch oil line at Barrett contained a significant amount of paraffin deposition along the entire horizontal length of the pipeline. The exact number of plugs, or complete blockages preventing communication, was unknown. However, based on the fact that we experienced significant pressure drops frequently during the pumping process, it was apparent the line contained numerous plugs.
